Welcome to Outlaw Miniatures and Shetlands! We are dedicated to raising Miniature Horses and Shetland Ponies that will not only stand out in the show ring but that will excel in the performance arena as well, and then pass those qualities on to their offspring.
We have been breeding miniature horses for over 15 years and enjoying Shetland Ponies since 1993. We have been competing in the show ring since 1989 and after attending our first AMHR National Show in 1994, our desire to be competitive and stay competitive in today's Miniature show ring was heightened and we have been concentrating on continually improving our breeding program every since. (Pictured at right and below right, driving with Larry Parnell, is D&S Tom Collins, a national champion who has produced national champions.)
We were very fortunate to be stalled next to Linda Mecham and Karen Santarosa, both partners in The Connection, at the 1999 AMHR National show. Their enthusiasm for a new stallion they had just acquired, BHR Lerwick, was very intriguing. So was a picture they proudly displayed of their new Seth Thomas bred double-registered
Shetland/Miniatures. They were very accommodating as we asked question after question and they, in turn, introduced us to Dale & Shirley Lutke, D&S
Stables, who endured more questions and gave us a "back-stall" tour of the double-registered Seth Thomas horses brought to compete that year at AMHR Nationals. We were impressed!
So began another chapter in our lives of admiring a new, but old, bloodline, researching, and finally purchasing Seth Thomas bred horses to incorporate into our breeding program. We are sure this is a venture that will take us into the 20th century of the Miniature Horse. It has already introduced us to many new wonderful friends that share a common bond – the love of a miniature horse and the desire to keep the heritage of our miniature horses alive.

Outlaw Miniatures & Shetlands recently added a new Junior Stallion, AE Bey Star, an ASPC-AMHR double-registered horse foaled in September 2007. His sure is Establo Mariachi and his dam is D&S Little Gem. We are so excited to add this stallion to our herd. His dam needs no introduction as she is the dam of D&S Golden Eagles, 2006 Halter Horse of the Year, and his sire is the sire of Establo Rosa Maria, a two-time Supreme Futurity Champion." Thank you Lynn Bateman of Arabian Echo Miniatures for allowing us the opportunity to add "Bailey" to our stallion power.
We also want to welcome a new Seth Thomas Collection mare to our herd, D&S Sands of Time. We want to thank Linda Mecham of The Connection for giving us the opportunity to add this mare to our select herd.
Our stallions, mares, foals, and show ring accomplishments can be seen on our website at: http://www.outlawminis-shetlands.com.
